During his career, he played mainly for Real Zaragoza. He played 14 times for the Spain national football team, participating in the 1964 European Football Championship and the 1966 FIFA World Cup. He scored the decisive goal in the 1964 final against the Soviet Union national football team, which Spain won 2–1 (21 June 1964).
