JR's station has one elevated island platform with two tracks. The station building is designed by Urabesekkei, a architect company based in Osaka. Before the elevation, passengers could enter the station only from the east (Sembon Street side), but people are able to enter from both sides, the west and the east.

When the station was located on the ground, there was a building which was suggestive oof the magnificent temple. The building was renstructed at Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum in 1996.
