Chris Hughes is a UK tabloid journalist and author, working as security correspondent for the Daily Mirror.[1] He has spent time covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. His book, Road Trip to Hell, details his time with UK and American forces in the two countries.
In his book he claims he was the first Western reporter to enter Iraq after the September 11, 2001 attacks on America, and the first Western journalist to access Saddam Hussein's bunker. He also claims to have witnessed unarmed demonstrators killed and wounded in Fallujah by US Marines.[2]
In 2010 Chris Hughes made anti-Motorcycle rider comments in his personal weblog after The Wootton Bassett ride-out to raise money for troops, which raised in excess of £100,000. His comments caused outrage in the biking community and calls for his resignation were made throughout the biking forums alongside complaints being made to the press complaints commission.(Gc)[3] .
