passengers/day 2009Ōhara Station (大原駅 Ōhara-eki ) is a railway station operated by JR East's Sotobō Line and the Isumi Railway's Isumi Line, located in Isumi, Chiba Prefecture Japan. It is 57.2 kilometers from the terminus of the Sotobō Line at Chiba Station and forms the eastern terminus of the Isumi Line.

History
Ōhara Station was opened on December 13, 1898 as the terminal station of the Bōsō Railway. On September 1, 1907, the Bōsō Railway was nationalized and became part of the Japanese Government Railways, which was transformed into the Japan National Railways (JNR) after World War II. The station was connected with Ōtaki, Chiba via the Izumi Kidō jinrikisha railway from December 15, 1912 to August 31, 1927. On the Bōsō Railway was extended to Katsuura on June 20, 1913. On April 1, 1930 the Isumi Railway began operations from Ōhara Station.
Freight operations were discontinued on February 1, 1984. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japan National Railways on April 1, 1987. On March 24, 1988, the Isumi Railway was split apart from the JR East network into a separate company.

Station layout
JR Ōhara Station has a single side platform and an island platform serving three tracks. The Isumi Railway has a single bay platform serving two tracks. The two station buildings are adjacent and are connected together.
