Buildings and Features

Lambton College is noted for its strength in the Technology and Applied Science department due to its location in Canada's Chemical Valley. Additionally, it is the only school to house an industry fire house in Canada.

In 1998, the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre was built on the college's campus. It is the home location of the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League, and is primarily used as a hockey arena. However, there are numerous shows, concerts and events that happen throughout the year.

Homage

In 1974, the college commissioned Hadyn Davies to construct "Homage", a wooden structure, outside the main entrance of the college. In 2005, the college tore it down with a backhoe, citing safety concerns due to an ant infestation and other animals degrading the structure. Davies subsequently sued the college contending the college failed to maintain the structure. ["CBC News", http://www.cbc.ca/story/arts/national/2006/05/04/angry-sculptor.html retrieved 13 Mar 08]

A video [http://haydndaviessculptor.ca/destruction.html 'homage 2 Homage'] has been made calling it an arbitrary decision to destroy the structure.
