Haplochromis obliquidens is a species of fish in the Cichlidae family. This is the type species of Haplochromis.
It is found in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitat is freshwater lakes. It is not considered a threatened species by the IUCN, but its numbers have declined in recent decade, raising concern.
