David Searle (conductor)

David Searle is an American conductor. He is Director of Orchestral Activities and Conducting Studies in the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music of the Catholic University of America.

Studies

He has studied in New England Conservatory, Northwestern University and Sibelius Academy. His teachers include Leif Segerstam, Atso Almila, Jorma Panula, Esa-Pekka Salonen and others.

Work

He was principal conductor of Ylioppilaskunnan Soittajat 2003-2007. He has guest conducted many orchestras in Finland and Scandinavia. In 2007, David Searle was appointed Director of Orchestral Activities and Conducting Studies at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music of the Catholic University of America, where he serves as Music Director of the University Symphony Orchestra and oversees the graduate conducting program.
