Nagar Lai is an educator, and is Director of Overseas Division, South China University of Technology NC and visiting professor of numerous universities. He formed the Institute of Supply Chain Management [1] and the China Business Manager Association.[2] He was the head of the Principal Examiners Alliance, Cambridge University International Examiner Syndicate for China since 2003 and founding Vice President for the Hong Kong Continuing Education Development Alliance, in which nearly all the major business-related professional associations in Hong Kong are represented.[3] [4]

Nagar Lai is the founding member of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Foundation, a Hong Kong Government Funded University in Hong Kong.[5] Nagar Lai is also the Honorary Education Advisor of Glorious China Association, a charity organization for servicing the poor people and honor the achievements of Chinese. Nagar becomes Honor Advisor to Cambodia Deputy Prime Minister - Academic on 2010.[6]

Mainly Biography process

Early life

Nagar Lai was born in Mainland China in 1959, and later moved to live in Hong Kong. Lai grew up in a Christian family and studied from primary to secondary in La Salle College,[7] a well known college belonging to the Catholic organization. But Nagar failed to become religious, but keep a non religious life until 2011.

Educational background

Nagar got educated in Hong Kong Polytechnic,[8] later renamed Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and got many postgraduate qualifications afterwards. He is now alumni of HKU Business School and Cambridge Judge Business School [9][10]

Career

Nagar Lai worked as marketing director of big companies including a listed company Shun Cheong Holding (Stock number in Hong Kong 650) and multinationals until the age of 40, then he became an educator until 2011. His active contribution includes being sponsoring member of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation.[11] Founding Vice President and Member of Continuous Professional Development Alliance[12] in which many huge business related professional associations are members. Nagar Lai is also the Honorary Education Advisor of Glorious China Association, a charity organization for servicing the poor people and honor the achievements of Chinese.[6] The Association has a strong image in the media and mindset of National Government.

He also served as Chairman of Institute of Supply Chain Management, a professional organization in logistics and Honorary Secretary of China Business Managers Association, the largest certification body in China Business Management.[13] He has been invited to write columns in many newspapers, including having a Professor’s Talk Page (Column) in one of the 3 Hong Kong newspapers that are allowed to circulate in China, from the year 2008. In his ‘Professor’s Column of Hong Kong Commercial Daily[14] he raises many sharp criticisms to the traditional education system and professional development.

Social Services

He was devoted to serving the poor and the labour by serving as vice chairman of Industrial Relations Institute, a labor concern pressure group founded by Rev Father McGovern S.J., a Legislative council member, but also a humble servant for the poor and the weak social group.[15] Nagar spent more than 10 years of his younger age, 20-30+, and during that time became one of the founding members of the Hong Kong Democratic Party.

Pro. Nagar Lai (黎拿加教授)) is vice president of Life Education Academy and has spent decades on supporting to look for real life value in social instead. He said the true value of life is not in what we get but in what we give and have received two Maharishi Awards, sharing and enjoying life with all persons.[16]Pro. Lai founded the Corporate Social Responsibility Channel that runs on IPTV, Web and mobile phones. www.carehk.tv. The channel promotes charity services and honour the corporations and persons with outstanding social responsibility.Nagar with his Corporate Social Responsibility TV Channel, supports many Branding Awards and Honor Doctor degree granting award

He is honored with advisor in Charge the Academies of Cambodia.[17]Commander Knights of Rizal, Glorious China Association Charity Award(盛世中华协会公益贡献奖), US President(Obama) Volunteer Service Award(美国总统(Obama)义工嘉许状), Maharishi Award(超觉静坐会), Order of Saint Michael and the Wings(葡萄牙圣米高骑士), Thailand Maha Chakri Education Award(泰国公主教育成就奖), Cambodia National Construction Award(Bronze)(柬埔寨国家勋章(铜章)),VP of Zheng Feng Wing Charity Foundation, Knight of order of St Michael and the Wings, Cambodia National Construction Award, Director of King Buddhist Foundation, Advisor to DPM of Cambodia.[18]

Other criticism

He commented strongly against current education system, while developing non traditional education reform through his related organization. This pushed his organizations to develop quickly but also attracts critics from traditional educators and authorities. The local newspaper South China Morning Post got insiders’ information and attacked him seriously with a series of articles on August 2008[19] that outline ‘the Institute of Supply Chain Management has been challenged to run courses in Hong Kong without proper registration. At the same time Nagar is suspected to have been involved in acquiring an Associate Professorship that he did not deserve.’

However, the attacks quiet off shortly when no solid proof can be sustained, and Nagar still serve as honorary on the above associations. At the same time he becomes Assistant President of St. Clements University Lausanne (http://scusuisse.ch) and senior advisor of South China University of Technology Business School and visiting professor of numerous universities including International American University.[20]
