] The song's theme is how what feels right during the night often turns out wrong in the morning. Conor Oberst appears alone on the track, on vocals and acoustic guitar.

The title "Lua" may refer to the Portuguese word for "moon" (in the end of the song, Oberst repeats the line "It was so simple in the moonlight" a number of times). Lua is also the Hawaiian ritual of bone breaking.

This single is the 68th release of Saddle Creek Records.

"True Blue", the last song on the single, is the only one that wasn't recorded at Presto! but at Conor Oberst's home in New York. It is a song Oberst wrote for his nephew.
