As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 7,114 people, 1,975 households, and 1,617 families residing in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 3,051.9/km² (7,877.1/mi²). There were 2,072 housing units at an average density of 888.9/km² (2,294.3/mi²). Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.89% of the population.There were 1,975 households out of which 44.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% were married couples living together, 23.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.1% were non-families. 13.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.60 and the average family size was 3.92.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 32.8% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.9 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $45,745, and the median income for a family was $46,292. Males had a median income of $29,899 versus $23,327 for females. The
