Felonious assault,
Aggravated arsonPenalty Life in prison, no parole Status Incarcerated in Ohio Reformatory for Women. Children Jacob Nicole Diar (born July 21, 1975) is an American convicted murderer who was sentenced to death in November 2005 for the 2003 murder of her 4-year-old son, Jacob. She was removed from death row on December 11, 2008, due to a court error (incomplete jury instructions).[1] On June 3, 2010, she was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
She was convicted in October 2005 of killing her son, Jacob. On August 27, 2003, she suffocated her son and then set his body and the house on fire. The day after she buried Jacob, she was seen at a bar singing karaoke and dancing.[2]
She herself was a burn victim. At age four, she suffered severe burns over more than 20 percent of her body when her brother accidentally set fire to her nightgown.[3] She had worked at summer camps for burn victims to help other children who were suffering from the stigma of having burn scars on their bodies.
The exact cause of Jacob's death was never determined because his body was too badly burned.
