According to the
United States Census Bureau in 2000, the town has a total area of 5.4square mile s (13.9km² ), of which, 5.3 square miles (13.8 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.74%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,908 people, 621 households, and 503 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 357.1 people per square mile (138.0/km²). There were 664 housing units at an average density of 124.3/sq mi (48.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 83.65% White, 0.42% African American, 0.94% Native American, 0.58% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 11.48% from other races, and 2.78% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 27.67% of the population.There were 621 households in 2000 out of which 44.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.8% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.0% were non-families. 13.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.07 and the average family size was 3.41.
In the town the population was spread out with 31.7% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 34.6% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 4.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.3 males.
In 2000, the median income for a household in the town was $55,313, and the median income for a family was $59,219. Males had a median income of $37,230 versus $30,147 for females. The
