History

Beginnings and Love Thongs (2002-2004)

The first songs were written under the band name of "Rubbers", however it was soon changed "Damien Done", to accommodate the solo theme. The material featured, was much different from the previous musical hardcore bands Damien had been with.

Soon after, the debut EP was announced, "Love Thongs". Its schedule release date was April 2004, under Good Life Recordings, as their 95th release. It was advertised to be a CD+DVD combo, featuring music videos, as well as a making of the record. The EP was produced by James Paul Wisner, who had worked with Damien on many of the As Friends Rust albums. It reunited Matthew Crum on drums, who had been As Friends Rust's first drummer. James Paul Wisner also played bass on the recordings, and Juan Montoya made an appearance on "Ass-Crack is the New Cleavage".

Three music videos were said to have been shot. "Ass-Crack is the New Cleavage" is the only one to have been released. It was directed by Dwid Hellion, who had been in Integrity. The music video was deemed controversial, but many did not understand why. Women walking around in bikinis, and Damien smoking and drinking seemed to be a like most music videos one would see on television these days. However, Damien had previously been in many straight-edge bands, and is therefore judged to be moving away from the beliefs and bringing controversy within old fans. Damien mentioned having shot a music video for Here Comes the Plague, which was to be the first song on Love Thongs, however it was never aired.

An official website was made for the artist, and the music video, mp3s and information were added, and advertised. Time came to April, and the EP was not released, and kept being put off. The status seemed to stay the same, as Damien started doing interviews, and the release was not taken off from the list of releases on the Good Life Recordings website.

The Second Album (2004-2005)

During the wait for Love Thongs to be released, Damien mentioned that he was working on a second album by the name of "You've Been Dicked Down by the Left Hand of God". He also mentioned that a new drummer had joined the band, Jon Marburger. This was the first mention that a drummer would actually "be" part of the band, rather than a solo project.

Soon news about Love Thongs surfaced, stating it was due out for release in fall 2004. Damien had moved back to Miami and a new band line-up appeared. Damien Moyal on vocals and guitar, Dan Bonebrake on bass and Jason Lederman on drums. Damien Done was featured on the Good Life compilation Never Surrender and it appeared that the song "Ass-Crack is the New Cleavage" had also been shortened to "The New Cleavage". This was the first song officially released by the band. The website was also mentioned to be under construction, however by May 2005, it was defunct.

Stay Black (2006)

The EP was delayed again and again with no news, until finally in 2006 news of the release surfaced again. The album title had been changed to "Stay Black", and for the second time, an official approximate time of release was announced. It was due for late spring of 2006 and had moved up the Good Life catalog to 103 and has been upgraded from an EP to a full-length.

In May 2006, Damien announced that a song would be on the soundtrack DVD for the documentary film The Vice Guide To Travel. This was the first song to be released to the public for buying (however only on the DVD).

The end of spring came and once again no album was released. During late summer the official website became defunct, and many started to believe the album would never be released. For many months no news were received by Damien.

Present (2007-2008)

In early 2007, Damien Done's cover of the song Eighteen was released on the Integrity tribute album, Harder They Fall. Although it was first advertised in February 2006, this gave a hope that the band was still around at this time.

The myspace of the band, as well as Damien's, had changed location from Miami, Florida, to Ann Arbor, Michigan. This could have slowed down the process, however until summer 2008, no news had resurfaced about the release of the full length, nor what the plans were for the project. Damien mentioned in summer 2008 that the delays were due to album cover problems, and that he was looking for an artist to get the project going. During some months he also posted new and older songs on the myspace, all of which have now been removed. As of fall 2008, the artwork is still pending.
