According to New Visions, their mission is to improve "...the quality of education children receive in New York City's public schools. Working with the public and private sectors, New Visions develops programs and policies to energize teaching and learning and to raise the level of student achievement. Examples of Participation

New Visions for Public Schools has worked on several projects, mostly successful. These include:

* Starting the New Century High Schools Initiative (NCHSI), which seeks to turn around failing high schools by including communities into smaller, innovative centers [http://www.newvisions.org/schools/nchs/index.asp] . 83 new public high schools have been crafted out of concept, since only 2002. The program is also crucial to the present New York City Department of Education's turnaround of the city's high schools.
