Pigeon River Bridge

Pigeon River Bridge

The Pigeon River Bridge is an international bridge, which crosses the Pigeon River between the Canadian province of Ontario and the American state of Minnesota.

The bridge, which connects Ontario Highway 61 to Minnesota State Highway 61, was originally built in 1917 as an "outlaw" bridge by residents of Thunder Bay who wanted a better transportation connection to the United States. It was later assumed by the provincial Ministry of Transportation. The current span was built in 1961, several kilometres east of the original bridge.
