Background

Marin Catholic College Preparatory High School provides its students with curriculum similar to college level, which may help prepare them for higher education. Along with a small range of courses that students may take from the science, language, arts, and math disciplines, students are required to complete a religion class each year. These courses focus on a variety of religious and ethical topics, including morality, scripture, and Bible interpretation. MCHS also offers advanced placement (AP) and honors classes for students who qualify.

From the 2009 class, .100 percent entered four-year colleges and universities. Approximately 65 percent of the student body is Catholic. The remaining 35 percent is composed of students of another faith or no specified faith.

Students are required to complete 100 hours of community service before graduating, though students are encouraged to exceed the requirement and may be admitted into the 200+ Club. Eligible volunteer activities range from coaching community sports teams to volunteering with the elderly.

All full time faculty, librarians, and counselors are represented by a labor union and have a collective bargaining agreement with the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The CBA governs the terms of their employment. The labor union's official name is The San Francisco Archdiocesan Federation of Teachers, Local 2240, which is an affiliate of the California Federation of Teachers (AFT, AFL-CIO).

MCHS has an optional sports program. Sports information can be found here.
