Holes Only OLED

A holes-only OLED is a standard OLED device without an electron transport layer. Because there is only a transport layer for holes there are no electrons for them to recombine with in the emissive layer, hence they do not emit light when charge is injected. Holes only devices are typically used to study the kinetics of an emitter and can be useful when trying to study energy transfer and multiple processes.
