The Allegheny Ridge Wind Farm is slated to become Pennsylvania's largest wind farm when it becomes operational in October, 2007, with 40 wind turbines, each of 2 megawatt capacity. The site is being built by Gamesa and will encompass parts of Cambria and Blair counties near Altoona.

"Mar 2007" - An apparent defect in an adhesive applicator caused 13 wind turbine blades at the site to be damaged, with large pieces breaking off two blades. The investigation delayed the planned March-April startup of the windmills.
