Hold-out rule

Because of the narrow center platform, a hold-out rule had been implemented at this station, where only one train could enter at a time (similar to the South San Francisco Station). With the completion of brand new northbound and southbound side platforms in early 2008, the hold-out rule has been eliminated.

tation Renovations

On February 25, 2008, Caltrain opened the new northbound platform at the station. This included new ticket machines, wheelchair accebility, and LED-indicator signs. On April 1, Caltrain opened the newly renovated southbound platform. Subsequently, the temporary southbound platform extension that lengthened the platform by about 100 feet to the north was demolished after the opening of the new platform.
