José Rui Tavares da Veiga (born 16 September 1982 in Póvoa de Santa Iría) is a Portuguese footballer, currently playing for PFC CSKA Sofia as a midfielder.José Rui signed with CSKA Sofia in June 2007 for a free transfer from C.D. Nacional.He plays in Cape Verde national football team, because his parents are from there.

Career

Started his career in little portuguese club SC Lourinhanense. In 2002 signed professional contract with F.C. Alverca. For two years in Alverca do Ribatejo José Rui played 35 caps and scored 2 goals. Between 2004 and 2007 consistent play in the clubs from BWINLIGA Vitória F.C.,F.C. Penafiel and C.D. Nacional.Generally in portuguese first liga - BWINLIGA he has four seasons. In them he has played in 70 caps and scored 5 goals. In june 2007 he signed with CSKA Sofia for a free transfer.
