It serves approximately 4250 students[3] in grades K through 12 from the towns of Chili, Ogden and Riga, and from the village of Churchville with 906 employees[4] and an operating budget of $68,755,030[2] (~$16,189 per student).
The average class size is 19-24 students and the student-teacher ratio is 11:1 (elementary), 12:1 (middle-high school).[5]
On June 13, 2007, the Board of Education appointed Dr. Pamela W. Kissel as the Superintendent of Schools, effective July 2007.

Board of education
The Board of Education (BOE) consists of 9 members. Members serve rotating 3-year terms. Elections are held each May for board members and to vote on the School District Budget.

Student performance
In 2008, 84% of fourth graders and 61% of eighth graders met or exceeded New York State reading standards. 89% of fourth graders and 87% of eighth graders met or exceeded math standards. 90% of students graduated with a high school diploma, meeting the state-wide standard of 55%.[3]
Superintendent
In 2005, some district members accused Superintendent Annemarie Spadafora of sexual harassment. The claims were investigated by the District and found to be unfounded; an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint was settled. In December 2006, Spadafora retired and the Board named Phillip W. Langton as acting superintendent. On June 13, 2007, the Board named former CCCSD student Pamela Kissel as Superintendent. Kissel was the assistant superintendent for instruction and support for the Monroe BOCES 2 and, prior to that, principal at Penfield High School.[7]
