The discography of Silverchair, an Australian alternative rock band, consists of five studio albums, twenty-two singles, two live albums, two best of albums, and four video releases.

Silverchair's first single, "Tomorrow", was highly successful upon release in 1994, which provided the band an opportunity to re-release the song, and also to film their debut music video. Shortly after, they released their debut album; "Frogstomp". Achieving success in the United States and performing around the world, Silverchair's band members continued with their school studies, and in 1997 released "Freak Show", which sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide.cite web|url=http://www.unofficial.com.au/stars-and-shows/silverchair.html |title=Silverchair: Australian alternative rock band|publisher=Unofficial|accessdate=2008-03-01] Following the success of 1999's "Neon Ballroom", Silverchair toured worldwide, then announced a break following the termination of their contract with Sony. The band formed their own record label; , which provoked Sony to release "The Best of Volume 1" without Silverchair's consent.cite web|url=http://www.whiteroom.com.au/howlspace/en2/silverchair/silverchair.htm |title=Silverchair|publisher=HowlSpace|accessdate=2008-02-06]

Silverchair returned to recording in June 2001, and released "Diorama" in 2002. Lead singer Daniel Johns succumbed to reactive arthritis while the band were touring to promote the album, [cite web|url=http://www.ama.com.au/web.nsf/doc/SHED-5EXHVQ |title=Dr Kerryn Phelps, Health Editor, with Steve Leibmann, Channel Nine, 'Today'|publisher=Australian Medical Association|date=6 May 2002|accessdate=2008-02-08] and after the 2002 ARIA Awards the band announced an indefinite hiatus.cite web|url=http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Artists/S/Silverchair/2007/07/13/4336258-sun.html |title=Silverchair makes most of break|publisher=JAM!
