Little Flower Hospital

Little Flower Hospital is an 800-bed multi-specialty hospital in the town of Angamaly, Eranakulam District, about 25 kilometres north of Kochi, situated at the junction of the Main Central Road of Kerala with the National Highway 47. The hospital is run by the Major Archdiocese of Kochi-Angamali of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. It offers a number of specialties including General Surgery, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Plastic & Microvascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Eye, ENT, General Medicine and its allied specialties, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics etc. The hospital is a regional referral unit for Ophthalmology, trauma and General Surgery.

The hospital is well equipped and has dedicated intensive care units for surgery, adult medicine and cardiac care as well as a neonatal intensive care unit. The theatre suite is also well equipped and staffed with highly trained and motivated people and is capable of managing most surgical work in the specialties mentioned. The General Surgery unit is involved in minimally invasive work as well as short stay and ambulatory surgery. The hospital is also provided with an excellent lab based support including facilities for cytology and histopathology, chemical pathology, microbiology and radiology unit with a CT, ultrasound and Doppler units as well as traditional x-ray units.

The hospital is well known in the state of Kerala for its ophthalmology wing, which is a pioneer in many sub-specialties connected with diseases of the eye.

The hospital has various training programmes at graduate level in the desciplines nursing, physiotherapy, optometry as well as in general nursing and midwifery. The hospital is also recognized by the National Board of Examinations for the training of doctors towards the Diploma of the National Board in General Surgery, General Medicine & Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Child Health.

The hospital is also one of the leading charitable institutions in the state of Kerala.
