United States Forest Service campground in the high country ofBig Sur , on the central coast ofCalifornia in theLos Padres National Forest . The campground has 23 sites set in a high valley adjacent to theNacimiento River , with a canopy ofPonderosa Pine ,Oak ,Madrone , andCalifornia Sycamore trees. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and pedestal grill. The campground is on theNacimiento-Fergusson Road (a famous motorcycling road), approximately 13 miles east of State Route 1 and 20 miles west of the city of Lockwood.As of June, 2007, the fee is $15 per site per night, and sites are limited to 6-8 persons. Per the National Forest Service, RVs are not advised.
