Lucien Anderson (
June 23 ,1824 -October 18 ,1898 ) was aUnited States Representative fromKentucky . He was born nearMayfield, Kentucky . He attended the public schools and studiedlaw . In 1845, he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Mayfield.Anderson served as a
Presidential Elector on the Whig ticket ofWinfield Scott andWilliam Graham in 1852. He served as a member of theKentucky House of Representatives 1855-1857 and was elected as anUnconditional Unionist to theThirty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1863-March 3, 1865). He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1864. He also served as a delegate to theRepublican National Convention in 1864. After leaving Congress, he resumed the practice of law. He died in Mayfield, Kentucky in 1898 and was buried in the Anderson family cemeteryReferences
