People Newspapers is a Dallas-based publisher of eight weekly newspapers covering specific communities of Dallas and Collin counties.

The publisher began in 1981 with "Park Cities People", founded by Reid Slaughter [http://frontburner.dmagazine.com/bloggers Bios for FrontBurner: Reid Slaughter] , "D Magazine" online blog] and covering the Park Cities enclave of Highland Park and University Park. In 1989, the company began to publish a second paper, "North Dallas People", which was distributed free of charge in additional affluent neighborhoods.
