Charles S. Gubser

Charles Samuel Gubser (February 1, 1916 – August 20, 2011[1]) was a Republican U.S. Representative from California.

Born in Gilroy, California, Gubser attended public schools. He graduated from San Jose State Junior College in 1934, the University of California in 1937, and then did two years of graduate work. He taught at Gilroy Union High School from 1939 to 1943. Grubser had been a farmer since 1940. He served as member of the California State Assembly in 1951 and 1952.

Gubser was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-third Congress. He was reelected to the ten succeeding Congresses and served from January 3, 1953. He was not a candidate for reelection in 1974 to the Ninety-fourth Congress and resigned his seat on December 31, 1974.

He was a resident of Fresno, California at the time of his death. Gubser died in Fresno, California on August 20, 2011. He was 95.
