Datuk (拿督) Tan Chai Ho ( _zh. 陳財和 Traditional, _zh. 陈财和 Simplified, chēn chāi hē pinyin Mandarin, Chan3 choi3 wo3 jyutping Cantonese) has been holding the post of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ministry of Malaysia from 29 March 2004 until 26 February 2008. He was a Member of Parliament (国会议员) of (P124) Bandar Tun Razak in Wilayah Persekutuan (Federal Territory) of Malaysia) representing the National Front Coalition (Barisan Nasional) for 3 terms until he lost to Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) on 8 March 2008 during 12th General Election in Malaysia.

Primary education at National Type Chinese School Kepong, Kuala Lumpur from 1956 to 1961.Secondary education till Senior Cambridge in 1967.Completed Form Six In 1969.Professional training : Company Secretary.

Political Background

A high calibre political leader who joined the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) in 1972.(MCA is the main Chinese political party in the Barisan Nasional which rules Malaysia). Was elected as MCA Kepong Baru Division Chairman in 1981. Was also elected Youth Chief of Kepong Division and Deputy Youth Chairman of Federal Territory , Kuala Lumpur same year. In 1985, elected as Central Committee Member for MCA National Youth and Head of the Vanguard Movement of the MCA Youth Wing. From 1990 to 1993, elected to the MCA National Central Working Committee and appointed State Chairman of Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur. Was also appointed as Head of the National MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau. Was made Senator in 1986 with term ended in 1990. A pragmatic, honest and sincere politician who is always ready to offer assistance or service to anyone without considering race, religion or status.) A very well-liked leader and well-accepted by people of all races and all walks of life wherever he goes. Vision and aspiration to see all in Kuala Lumpur live harmoniously, happily and in prosperity, and to see a progressive City of Kuala Lumpur with people living in harmony.
