Chai Yee Wei

Singapore Director/Writer/Producer Chai Yee Wei of Hot Cider Films, was born on June 21, 1976. His latest work, TWISTED (撞鬼), is a supernatural comedy, starring Mark Lee (李国煌) and Randall Tan, Zhu Mi Mi (朱咪咪), Linda Liao (廖佩伶) and Joey Leong (梁祖仪). Twisted is backed by Clover Films Pte Ltd and Way On Net Group Pte Ltd from Singapore and from Malaysia by Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd, PMP Entertainment Sdn Bhd, Passion Entertainment Sdn Bhd, and mm2 Entertainment Sdn Bhd.

His debut feature film Blood Ties, which premiered on 10 September 2009, was funded under the Singapore Film Commission's New Feature Film Fund and backed by Oak3. Before that, Yee Wei had also made many comedy short films, such as Loser, Lau Sai (Diarrhea) and My Blue Heaven amongst others.

Along the way, Yee Wei also founded Curry Favor, the first Japanese curry specialty restaurant in Singapore, and started several other businesses including an IT company and wedding photography business.

Yee Wei lives in Singapore, and is married to Diane Chan.
