Holmes Beach in Manatee County toAvon Park in Highlands County. The route terminates in the west at the junction of State Route 789 approximately two blocks from theGulf of Mexico . The eastern terminus is at the junction of US 27/US 98 in Avon Park. State Route 64 travels from west to east through the counties of Manatee, Hardee and Highlands. It is a mostly rural 2-lane highway going through only two cities,Bradenton &Zolfo Springs . It crosses theGulf Intracoastal Waterway as well as theBraden River ,Lake Manatee , and theMyakka River .Major intersections
