- Russian cruiser General-Admiral (1873)
"General-Admiral" was a warship of the Imperial Russian Navy, and is generally considered as the first true armored cruiser. [ Beeler, p222 ] She had a sister ship, the "Gerzog Edinburgski".
She was launched in 1873, and scrapped in 1938.
