Kamara (Greek: Καμάρα), also with the second aaccented is a Greek village in the southwest of the
Arcadia prefecture located 11 km south ofLeontari around 23 km southeast ofMegalopoli , 18 km southeast from the nearest interchange with the GR-7/E65 (Kalamata -Megalopoli - Tripoli), 55 to 60 km fromKalamata , about 56 km southwest of Tripoli and northwest ofSparta . Kamara is in the municipality ofFalaisia . Kamara is connected with the road connecting Leontari andDyrrachi , it also has a road to the village ofFalaisia and Kyparissia. Kamara had a 2001 population of 287 for the village and 355 for the municipal district.ubdivisions

Kamara is situated in the a valley area and are made up of forests and farmlands as well, the creek is to the west and near the village is the line of where it is mainly dry during the summer months. The mountains cover the eastern and the western portions and are made up of rocks with grasslands and bushes along with a couple of forests and grasses and bushes around the areas. The mountaintop elevations 1,197 m is to the east as well as the
Laconia prefecture. Its main production areolive s,citrus , fruits, vegetables and other crops, several common crops are rarely common. Its panorama includes the mountains around the area including the western, the northern, the eastern and the southern parts.Its residential houses and buildings are within the main road and it is about 200 m long. Much of the houses were stone built until the 1960s. Electricity arrived in the same year. Vehicles arrived in the 1970s, the pavement of the main road and television arrived in the 1980s, Computers and internet along with satellite tv have become known in the beginning of the 21st century and up to date technology is increasingly available from neighboring Megalopoli.

History
The village used to have a large population before the beginning of the 20th century. After
World War II and theGreek Civil War , the population began to decline as residents moved to larger towns and cities and outside of Greece. The population slowly declined between [1981 and 1991 and rapidly between 1991 and 2001.Other
Kamara has a church, and a square ("
plateia "), its nearest school and lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) are now in Megalopoli since 2005.External links
