Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. is a Lombard, Illinois-based staffing company, founded in 2001, that specializes in recruiting and placing qualified individuals in the healthcare, insurance, scientific and information technology industries. Medix serves a variety of organizations in these areas, including hospitals, medical groups and clinics, managed care organizations, laboratories, insurance companies and medical billing and claims companies.

At present, there are five different placement divisions within Medix. The first division is Healthcare, which includes all types of nurses, occupational health practitioners, and medical assistants[1]. The second is Insurance, which contains within it such areas as claims processing, data entry, and case management[2]. The third division is Med-Financial, which includes medical billing, payment posting, coding, and collections[3]. The fourth division is Scientific, which includes microbiologists, chemists, and quality assurance professionals[4]. The final division is Information Technology, which includes a variety of positions in applications development, infrastructure, and communications. These placements may be either contract, contract-to-hire, or direct hire[5].

At present, there are ten offices: Lombard, IL (Chicago), Overland Park, KS (Kansas City), Rockville, MD (Washington, D.C.), Scottsdale, AZ (Phoenix, AZ), Richardson, TX (Dallas), Orange, CA, Woburn, MA (Boston), Houston, TX, Parsippany, New Jersey (Jersey City/New York), and Pittsburgh, PA [6]. Medix employs over 130 employees internally.

In 2009, Medix was featured in the "Fast Fifty" in the Crain's Chicago Business magazine, published by Crain Communications Inc. They were ranked the number eleven fastest growing company in Chicago out of the nearly 300,000 based there, due to their nearly 1300 percent growth over the last five years. [1] This is Medix's second consecutive year on the "Fast Fifty" list, as it was featured on the 2008 list at number seven. In 2009, Medix was also named this year's recipient of the Business Ledger’s “Entrepreneurial Excellence Growth Award.” The annual award recognizes private businesses for outstanding growth and development within the last four years; Medix and the company’s Chief Executive Officer Andrew Limouris were highlighted this year as leaders in the world of entrepreneurial spirit.[2]
