Amidophosphoribosyltransferase (or phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate amidotransferase) is an enzyme which converts phosphoribosylpyrophosphate (PRPP) into 5-phosphoribosylamine. The enzyme uses the ammonia group from the glutamine side chain. This is an important reaction for purine synthesis.
