Princess Hélène of Orléans

Princess Hélène of Orleans, Duchess of Aosta ("Hélène Louise Henriette") (13 June 1871,York House, Twickenham-21 January 1951, Naples, Italy).She was the third of eight children born to Louis-Philippe, Count de Paris and Infanta Maria Isabel of Spain. Although she was the first choice of bride for Nicholas II of Russia by his parents, the relationship did not progress beyond friendship.While Nicholas went on to marry Alix of Hesse in late 1894, Hélène married Prince Emanuele Filiberto Vittorio Eugenio Alberto Genova Giuseppe Maria, 2nd Duke of Aosta (1869-1931) on 25 June 1895 at Kingston-on-Thames.

The couple had two sons:

* Amedeo, 3rd Duke of Aosta (October 21, 1898 - March 3, 1942)
* Aimone, 4th Duke of Aosta who briefly ruled as King Tomislav II of Croatia. (9 March, 1900 - 29 January, 1948)
