Chagalamarri or Chagalamarry or Chagalmurri (Telugu: చాగలమర్రి) is a mandal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Geography
Chagalamarri or Chagalamarry is located at 14°58′00″N 78°35′00″E / 14.9667°N 78.5833°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 149 meters (492 feet).
Its almost equal distance with + or - from three major cities from Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. It is located at the border of Kurnool and Kadapa districts. Chagalamarri/Chagalamarry is in between Allagadda(Kurnool Dt) and Mydukur(Kadapa Dt).
Chagalamarri is named after Goddess Chagalamma, a Parvathi avatar. Well-known temple in Chagalamarri is "Kanyaka Parameshwari temple". It is a centuries-old temple, dedicated to Goddess Parvathi avatars, where the Dasara festival is celebrated very grandly every year. "Ayyappa temple" on NH-18 high way road is a new construction. Every year many people of Chagalamarri take the Ayyappa mala during the Sankranthi season. The temple is well known for serving of free breakfast, lunch and dinner to any person who is in ayyappa mala going through Chagalamarri towards Sabarimala.
Chagalamarri is famous for Cricket and SoftBall (BaseBall) teams. Most of the students play the link title cricket some time in their school life. Some landmarks in Chagalamarri town are Peddamakanam, Main bazar, Kajamaiya Garden and Telugu Ganga reservoir. there are several high schools in chagalamarri mandal.
Chagalammri have a good education qualities most from the ZPHS [boys] high school ,from that school is a good and most useful school for studying poor people. and school have got good marks in ssc . the manadal top of that mandal is only this school from 2005 onwards and also the chagalamarri famous for the moharam festival. for that festival that town people do very gargiously and neatly.there are several masques also present that mandal in the all masques the big and famous masque is maarkaje masque.References
