List of highways in Tasmania

The Highways in Tasmania generally expand from Hobart and other major cities with secondary roads interconnecting the highways to each other. Functions of these highways include freight, personal travel and tourism. The AusLink Network currently consists of the Midland, Bass and the East Tamar Highway. Two of the busiest roads, The Tasman and Brooker Highway manage over 60,000 and 40,000 cars a day respectively.cite web | year = 2007 | url = http://stca.tas.gov.au/downloads/2006/04-linear-infrastructure.pdf | title = Linear Infrastructure | publisher = Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources | accessdate = 2007-04-30] The State government and many southern councils are currently lobbying to have these highways declared as part of the network.
