Posterior parietal cortex
- Posterior parietal cortex
The posterior parietal cortex is a portion of the parietal lobe which manipulates mental images, and integrates sensory and motor portions of the brain. It is involved in formation of plans.[cite journal |author=Coulthard EJ, Nachev P, Husain M |title=Control over conflict during movement preparation: role of posterior parietal cortex |journal=Neuron |volume=58 |issue=1 |pages=144–57 |year=2008 |month=April |pmid=18400170 |pmc=2292819 |doi=10.1016/j.neuron.2008.02.009 |url=http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S0896-6273(08)00131-1] ]It consists of Brodmann area 5 and Brodmann area 7.[cite web |url=http://thebrain.mcgill.ca/flash/a/a_06/a_06_cr/a_06_cr_mou/a_06_cr_mou.html |title=THE BRAIN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM |format= |work= |accessdate=] ]References
