The Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Open University or PUP-OU, also known as the "Pamantasang Bayan" (Filipino: "Politeknikong Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, Bukás na Unibersidad") or the PUP Center for Distance Learning Education is the official distance-learning university of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines System. Though headquartered at the PUP Manila (Main)'s Mabini Campus, it is non-campus in nature. It was established in 1995 to meet the needs of those who cannot physically go to regular classes. The university maintains a number of OU centers in the country.
