Lowell "Sly" Fillmore Dunbar was born on
10 May 1952 , in Kingston,Jamaica .Working together with
Robbie Shakespeare ,Sly and Robbie are considered one of the world's premierrhythm section s for their work in the field ofreggae . They are considered originators of the "Rockers" rhythm. Dunbar & Shakespeare formed their Taxi Records label in 1980. It has seen releases from many international successful artists, includingBlack Uhuru ,Chaka Demus &Pliers ,Ini Kamoze ,Beenie Man and Red Dragon.Dunbar has played for
The Aggrovators forrecord producer Bunny Lee ;The Upsetters forLee Perry ,The Revolutionaries forJoseph Hoo Kim , and recorded for Barry O'Hare in the 1990s.As a member of Word, Sound & Power, he backed
Peter Tosh on hisalbum , "Mystic Man ".Sly and Robbie also played on
