221B Baker Street , and the decedent is dressed asSherlock Holmes . The man appears to have committedsuicide by shooting himself, but thegun cannot be found at the crime scene. Shortly after the body is found they learn that the victim participated in a weekly get together with three friends who also dressed up as Sherlock Holmes characters. All three aresuspect s and Greg investigates each one until he makes his final determination of whom he believes committed themurder . Grissom looks at the report Greg hands in and sees that it is probably someone else that actually committed the murder. This suspect is interrogated and confesses to the crime. Greg thinks that he doesn't pass his final proficiency because he concluded the wrong person, but Grissom passes him and says that he did his job of collecting the evidence perfectly and that interpreting it is hard and is why they work as a team.Critical analysis
The final outcome of Greg's case perfectly parallels the original
Sherlock Holmes story "The Problem of Thor Bridge ".Continuity
Greg failed his final proficiency test in "Viva Las Vegas" but was given a second chance by Grissom, and passed it in this episode.
