text =Lorna struggled emotionally after her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, a heart-warming card from her students was too much, and she left the classroom, later returning to claim that she was resigning from Waterloo Road. She then invited Tom and Izzie to stay at a country cottage for the weekend, where she slipped away upstairs claiming that she was having a bath. After a time, a tipsy Izzie grew suspicious of such a long bath, she raced upstairs to find Lorna on her bed, nearly unconscious from an overdose of sleeping pills. Tom tried to phone for an ambulance, but Lorna had cut the phone line and left his mobile phone in the champagne bucket. Preston also demanded the sacking of Davina because of her brief encounter with Brett.
