SEC Men's Basketball Player of the Year

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an award given to the player who has has proven himself, throughout the season, to be the most exceptional talent in the Southeastern Conference.

Three different organizations have given this award:
*Associated Press, 1965–present
*United Press International, 1965–1992
*SEC coaches, 1987–present

All-time winners

The following is a list of the all-time SEC Player of the Year Award winners. Awards for later seasons are referenced either by official SEC end-of-season press releases or by third-party media reports.] When only a single player is listed for the given year, he has earned all of the awards available for that year. The school with the most SEC Player of the year award winners is Kentucky, with 10 players combining to win awards in 12 seasons. Two schools have yet to have a winner: South Carolina (which joined the conference with Arkansas in 1991) and Florida (despite the Gators' success in recent years, including Final Four appearances in 1994 and 2000 and NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007).
