The Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter Public School (BArT), located in Adams, Mass., is a tuition-free, college-preparatory public school for middle and high school students in Northern Berkshire County that is open to students in grades 6 through 12.

BArT primarily serves students in Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Lanesborough, North Adams, Pittsfield, Savoy and Williamstown. Students from other towns will be enrolled if space is available.

Mission

BArT integrates the study of arts and technology with core subjects to promote mastery of academic skills and content, prepare students for college, and graduate independent thinkers, dynamic workers and active citizens for life. The school provides middle and high school students in Northern Berkshire County with an intellectual community that regards everyone, including teachers and parents, as perpetual learners. Non-traditional Schedule

The students have a 10-month school year beginning at the end of August and running through the end of June. The school calendar generally follows that of the local school district in terms of vacations. Students are generally released early one day every month to provide teachers with time for professional development.

In addition to a longer school year, the students also have a longer school day from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm on every day. [ [http://www.bartcharter.org/school_program/berkshirearts.pdf Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter Public School Charter Application] . Page 32. Updated]
