"Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes" is an aerobic, Gram negative soil bacterium that was first isolated from swimming pool water [cite journal |author=Monias, B. It is able to use cyanide as a nitrogen source, and as a result it may be used for bioremediation [Huertas MJ, Luque-Almagro VM, Martinez-Luque M, Blasco R, Moreno-Vivian C, Castillo F, Roldan MD.
