The Hauerseter–Gardermo Line ( _no. Hauerseter–Gardermobanen), sometimes called the Old Gardermobanen, is an abandoned branch line of the Hoved Line in Ullensaker, Norway.

History

It opened on 13 June 1941 and branched off from Hovedbanen at Hauerseter Station and went to Gardermoen Air Station. From 1947 it had passenger traffic for a few years. Both civilian and military freight trains went to the air station. When the new main airport for Eastern Norway, Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, was decided located to Gardermoen, the line was abandoned and torn down to make room for the terminal and eastern runway.

After the closure most of the track was removed, but about 500 meters of the railway still remains and there is still a railway bridge over the E6. The bridge will be torn down if the E6 is rebuilt north of the airport.

Instead of having a side track from Hovedbanen serve the new airport, Norwegian authorities decided to build a brand new high-speed railway to the airport, the Gardermo Line.
