South Australian Association of University College Clubs

South Australian Association of University College Clubs

SAAUCC, or the South Australian Association of University College Clubs as it is officially known, is located in Adelaide, South Australia. It is the student body that oversees sporting and social events held between the five undergraduate University colleges in Adelaide. The college clubs involved are from Aquinas College, Flinders University Hall, Lincoln College, St. Ann's College and St. Mark's College. There has been talk of the Lutheran Seminary joining SAAUCC for some years, but so far this has not happened.

Douglas Irving Cup

There are many different sports that are played between the five Colleges, all of which count for points towards the Douglas Irving High Table Cup. St Marks has held this trophy since 2002. The High Table Cup sporting competition includes tennis, swimming, cricket, debating, basketball, football, netball, soccer, hockey, table tennis, volleyball, and athletics.

The past few years has seen much debate over the possible inclusion of Boat Races (competitive drinking) and Battle of the Bands in the points tally. There has also been talk of the inclusion of Rugby 7s in the High Table Cup competition, but so far nothing has become of it.

AAUCC Committee

The committee comprises one elected member from each college who form the executive, and the two Sport Secretaries and College Club President from each college make up the rest of the committee. The 2007 executive is as follows:

*President: Rhys Lacey (Flinders University Hall)
*Vice President: Erin Law (Aquinas College)
*Secretary: Megan Ang (Lincoln College)
*Treasurer: Jess Conway (St Marks College)
*Sport Secretary: Ricky Evans (St Anns College)
