London was inaugurated onOctober 23 1926 . It was one of the earliestmosque s in Britain. The majority of the money was contributed byAhmadi women inIndia , who gave their jewellery and belongings to built the first purpose-built mosque in London.The "Fazl Mosque" is located in
Southfields , London nearKing George's Park and Southfields train station. The foundation stone was laid byMirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad in 1924.The mosque is the residence of the
Khalifatul Masih since April 1984. Also this mosque was the main venue for the Friday Sermon for many years until the completion of theBaitul Futuh mosque in 2003.See also
