KΨE (Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority Incorporated) is a multicultural local college sorority. Kappa Psi Epsilon's alpha chapter was founded on September 24, 1982 by six women at the Newark campus of Rutgers University. In 1994 Kappa Psi Epsilon's beta chapter opened its doors to ladies from the Newark campus of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Purpose

The purpose of Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority Inc. is to provide extensive social, educational and cultural awareness to members. The promotion of deep rooted values and ethics is also exercised. Mainly, unity,loyalty trust and respect are ideals that sisters strive for. Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority Inc. is an equal opportunity sorority with no preference to race, creed, color, sexual orientation or socio-economic status.

Philanthropy and Service

Kappa Psi Epsilon has a tradition of active involvement in local and national charities. The sorority organizes and conducts both hands on service events and raise funds for many diverse organizations such as:

*The American Red Cross
*Toys for Tots
*The March of Dimes
*The Endo Angels (Endometriosis Foundation)
*The Susan G Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer

Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority Inc. also collaborates with the Girl Scouts of America in order to lend support and service to young women. In 2006, Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority Inc. aided in the construction of a haunted house for a local girl scout troop during Halloween time. Kappa Psi Epsilon sisters have also been leaders and project coordinators for various arts and crafts workshops and have attended workshops that have trained them to work with girls of all ages in the Girl Scout Programs.

Each year Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority Inc. holds educational programs to provide students with information and a forum to have discussions and ask questions. These programs are open to the public.

Regalia

The regalia of Kappa Psi Epsilon are physical signs of the high regard for sisters and their accomplishments.

Crest

The Kappa Psi Epsilon coat of arms or crest was adopted by the founding sisters in 1982. The shield is decorated with a unicorn in the center which is enveloped by a long stemmed yellow rose on either side.

Mascot

The Kappa Psi Epsilon mascot is the unicorn.

Flower

The yellow rose is the Kappa Psi Epsilon flower as it signifies joy, gladness, friendship, the promise of a new beginning, and remembrance.

tone

The Kappa Psi Epsilon stone is Yellow Topaz.
