Melbu is a village (population 2005: 2161[1]) located in the municipality of Hadsel in the Vesterålen archipelago in the county of Nordland, in Northern Norway. Melbu is one of two centres on the Hadseløya island, the other being Stokmarknes. Melbu is host to the annual Sommer-Melbu festival.

Infrastructure

Melbu has a ferry connection to the Lofoten islands. The nearest airport, Skagen, is about 25 kilometers away. Melbu is located on the south side of Hadseløya.
